Legalization
General Information
Prior to using the Japanese authority document in Thailand, the document should be first authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Japan. And you may be required the legalization of the Royal Thai Embassy or Royal Thai Consulate-General by the Thai authorities. The Royal Thai Embassy or Royal Thai Consulate-General is authorized to legalization documents bearing the seal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Japan.

1. Personal submission of documents
1.1 Application form (Download available)
1.2 Original document authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, and one complete copy (all pages).
1.3 Original ID and one copy (e.g., passport, driver’s license, My Number card, residence card any government issued ID with a photo) Handwritten signature and personal seal (hanko) required
1.4 Fee: 3,000 yen per stamp (Cash only)
2. Submission by a representative
2.1 Application form (Download available)
2.2 Power of Attorney (Download available)
2.3 Original document authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, and one complete copy (all pages).
2.4 One copy of the applicant’s ID (e.g., passport, driver’s license, My Number card, residence card any government issued ID with a photo) Handwritten signature and personal seal (hanko) required
2.5 Original and one copy of a representative’s ID (e.g., passport, driver’s license, My Number card, residence card any government issued ID with a photo) Handwritten signature and personal seal (hanko) required
2.6 Fee: 3,000 yen per stamp (Cash only)
Please note that each application is limited to a maximum of fifteen authentication seals per submission.
